Conversations

As we have said, our main focus of this project is participation by American Patriots, regardless of religion, skin color, ethnicity or political affiliation ... to recognize that one of our Founders greatest accomplishments was to converse about issues, not just with proponents but more importantly with opponents and find compromise; find real solutions.

That meant, that they did not immediate solve all of the worlds problems or short comings. And to take that to the logical next step ... nothing is resolved by focusing on what divides us; nothing is resolved by physical or mental conflict ... war creates more divide regardless of the outcome ... lies create less understanding and a greater divide ... solutions that favor only one religion, one race or one group at the expense of others is no solution.

This site will not be 100% in support of any one side but will seek to bring solutions to the front to encourage all of us to work and live together, to encourage intellect and tolerance over compassion in finding the middle. That is what the intentions of our Founders sought.

Let's be clear, what we have today for a government is broken ... for more then 5 decades, election reform was an major issue, and now barely discussed as $100 million dollars or more is spent to obtain a position that pays $400 thousand per year ... Abortion rights used to be about the rights of the unborn vs. the rights of women ... now its just pro or con on abortion or pro or con on who pays ... name an important issue that has either been resolved or improved on for the benefit of the people in the last 50 years.

Lets take a look a some possible conversations. Once we are fully launched, we will be seeking experts and intellectuals to discuss real solutions; to work towards understanding and and cooperation and hopefully give them backing without political or financial bias. Our conversation starters will not necessarily be our opinions or a side but reflect what is being said in the media or elsewhere ... words to create emotional responses and get people to look at the truth and want get involved and to address the issue.

The Environment

Is any real solution found by one side showing images of polar bears frolicking on an ice covered landscape while the other side shows polar bears struggling to swim to a tiny floating piece of ice?

Are windmill farms a real solution when some are located for "political value" in an area that lacks the wind to ever offset the environmental impact of building the windmills?

Is shutting down a pipeline now, when alternative energy has not been found or perfected resulting in the need for hundreds of tankers to cross our oceans polluting with each trip and knowing that disasters are imminent?

Racism

Lets me clear, one of the first issues that needs to be taken out of our conversations is that racism was a founding principle of these United States. Prior to 1776, racism, religious persecution, ethic and class boundaries were the norm. World leaders were entirely about their own ... suppressing ... controlling and even cleansing the world of those beneath them or different from them.

Yes our founding fathers did not declare our nation be of one to prevent slave ownership (nor to allow it); in fact, what they did clearly state is that "all men are created equal" ... but on the issue of making slavery illegal, they neither confirmed or exempted that issue. Fact is, they created no laws, only a document that would define how laws were made. And to the bigger issue, almost 1/4th of the signers of the declaration were plantation owners. They compromised and moved the needle toward equality and created a country in doing so.

For those of us that grew up on the 60's and watched the transition over the next 40 years, we saw the change, the ever increasing diversity, acceptance and equality. It wasn't finished, but for most Americans, we saw the errors of the past and the light we were moving towards.

Let's start all conversations about racism with the fact that the United States is the most diversified country in the world.
